GHFC Recovery Room​

The GHFC Recovery Room is all about Mental & Physical Wellness 101​.

As long as you stick to the booked time limit you can choose between any combination of our:

Self MyoFascial Release area (mats, stretching bands, foam rollers, massage balls, massage gun)
Compression boots in reclining chairs
Full Spectrum Infrared Sauna
Thermostat-controlled plunge bath set at 8-degrees

We encourage you to leave your phones and watches at the door and take some “time out” to look after your mental health and “refill your cup” whilst working on your physical recovery & repair.

Make sure you arrive in time to sign the release, receive an intro and be ready to start on time. Please bring a water bottle and towel. Please wear workout gear (and optional cossie for the Sauna and ice bath).

Compression Boots

Ditch those sore muscles and upgrade your wellness routine with a restorative massage. These compression boots utilize compressed air to massage your limbs, leading to mobilized fluid and faster recovery and recuperation following intense exertion. We do also have access to a set of compression Arms or Back/Hips (only 1 can be used at a time), so let us know in advance if you'd prefer those in the room.

InfraRed Sauna

Infrared is not just about sweating and making yourself as hot and as uncomfortable as possible. The infrared penetrates deeply into your skin increasing blood flow, improving circulation, improving cell mitochondria efficiency in the body, increasing the production of Collagen in the skin; reducing pain and inflammation, assisting weight loss, improving mental health, and much more.

Cold Plunge Bath​

Our thermostat-controlled plunge bath is set at 8 degrees.  You can sit in it with legs outstretched so you get a total body effect. A cold plunge has been proven to affect the vagus/vagal nerve(s) which are the main nerves of your parasympathetic nervous system, which controls specific body functions such as your digestion, heart rate and immune system. The combination of hot and cold is believed to have immense benefit to mental health and clarity of thought.

Benefits of cold after heat
A shower or ice bath can do amazing things for the body, including improving mental sharpness, aiding fat loss, and improving memory function. Cold immersion therapy/cold plunge for 1-3mins is often called a super power, especially if following a hot sauna.

POINTS TO NOTE

• The room has a mat area with massage gun, foam roller, massage balls & stick, stretching bands, 2 sets of compression pants in reclining chairs with a TV screen, an Infrared Sauna that comfortably fits two people connected to Bluetooth, a chiller-unit controlled ice bath.

• Sessions can be made up of any combination of the contents of the room but the maximum time limit must be strictly adhered to. View info sheet for timing options

• Cold Plunge only sessions include a shower and ice bath (for your maximum submersion time) and have a time limit of 15 mins in total. We have a breathing app to compliment your ice bath experience.

• A towel (and laundry fee) and one 600ml water are included in all session prices.

• Please remove all make-up and have a shower before you arrive.

• There is no surcharge for weekend bookings.

• Swimmers or active wear must be worn.

• All GHFC 24/7 or Group Fitness Members receive 25% off any GHFC Recovery Room Services.
