Group Sessions / Fitness Classes
All fitness classes are adaptable to any level. Age range 15 years and up (we have a separate flyer on our youth fitness classes)
Our Strength sessions focus on pure strength of the total body to live a healthy and pain free life.
We aim to ensure your training is well balanced and so we will have more of a focus on upper body on one day and lower body on the other.
Core will always be included. Dumbbells, Kettlebells, Barbells, TRX, Slam Balls, Bands, Plates, Body weight and a variety of other equipment may be used.
The programs will vary as we believe in constantly stimulating the muscles in different ways. Bring your own dumbbells/kettlebells if you have them to avoid sharing.
All sessions are adaptable to any level as you work at your own level (so from beginners to advanced lifters).
This session will always involve some Cardio, it may be boxing, rowing, air/assault bikes, ski erg, running/walking/jogging, skipping, bodyweight cardio, or it may include some power weight work. It will always be guaranteed to get your heart pumping and burn mega calories and will often involve high intensity movements designed to increase metabolic thresholds.
The sessions will always be adjustable to any age and any fitness level (eg. jumps can be stepped, runs can be walked). Cardio is essential for heart health!!
These sessions will also include some core and stability work.
Yoga offers strength and flexibility, while soothing your nerves and calming your mind.
We are strong supporters on the power of yoga, not just for your physical wellbeing, but also your mental wellbeing. It helps reduce stresses from your training, allowing for regeneration of muscles and organs.
Our yoga sessions are run by Amelia Smith and will normally include some breathing work, mindfulness and meditation. Feel free to bring a rug and beanie and gloves in winter and rug up. The Saturday morning session may be held outside should the demand be there. Please bring your own mat where possible.
These “Boxing for Fitness” sessions will be taken by Enja Prest, who is a Professional Boxer and has run these sessions for some time.
They may include basic boxing and/or boxing combinations. The sessions may also include skipping and other cardio activities.
Some body weight strength activities may be thrown in to balance it out.
Boxing is a great activity to compliment your other training and helps with stress and anxiety.
Due to the current Health order, boxing with a partner is prohibited as it is impossible to keep social distancing. So we will be using our boxing stands, bag, shields, weighted shadow boxing, etc.
You must bring your own gloves. We can no longer share ours however we are selling our old ones for $10 per set (including the pads so you can use them at home).
Think Hips, Glutes, Backs and Abs.
Think activating your glutes, stabilising your hips, strengthening your abs and lower back.
Think no more back pain!!
This session will focus on strengthening these critical body parts that are often neglected in mainstream programs.
It will also include a mobility warm up using a foam roller and will often include the use of booty.micro bands so bring your own of both (or we sell them both).
These sessions are adaptable to all ability and age levels.
Saturday Super Sessions are designed to add variety to the end of your training week … it could be a bootcamp (indoor or outdoor) … it could be MetaFit … it could involve some ZUU moves … it could be a little bit of Strongman … it’s always going to have some functional strength … the possibilities are endless …
Come along and challenge yourself! Think box jumps, monkey bars, slammers, tyres, kettlebells, sleds, slam balls, ropes and/or a few other choice pieces of equipment.
Definitely one of our favourite programs … it can still be adapted for any level with lower level options of all exercises always available.
